To kick off our new Isese Mondays, here is the Olodumare and Ori prayer of the week. We had to take it back to the Source and include Ori, because, as Ifa always reminds us, we must venerate Ori before any other deities. For those of you here from social media, subscribe to our newsletter below to receive the prayer download.
Before anything, the Source.
Olodumare is the Supreme Source of all life, of every Orisa, and of the breath in you right now.
Then your Ori.
Your Ori is the creator of your destiny, your inner divinity and higher consciousness. It chose your path before you were born, and it goes before you this week.
The teaching:
No Orisa or other deity can bless you without the consent of your Ori. Align with your own head first.
The prayer (Yoruba)
Olódùmarè, mo júbà rẹ. Mo oore rẹ lori ẹmi mi. Orii mi, mo juba rẹ o. Ori dakun gbemi debi ire lọsẹ yii. Sina ire temi fun mi, bami ti ọna ibi. Ori dakun gbemi pade ẹni rere pẹlu ọrọ rere lẹnu. Daabo rẹ bomi lori gbogbo irinajo mi. Ma jẹ ki rin ajo alọ-aide.
Asẹ!

The prayer (English)
Olodumare, I pay homage to you and thank you for life and breath. My Ori (Ori mi) I pay homage, carry me to the place of good this week. Open doors that are mine, close doors that are not. Let me meet good people and speak good words. Put a protective shield around me, so that I return home in peace.
Asẹ!
